PS/ME matching in Pythia and Herwig

Project description:

To continue the study of matching in a hadronic enviroment already implemented for
W and Z production at the Tevatron.   The main approach here would be: (1) the
pseudoshower method (very close to Leif's inverse cascade, but generalized for implementation
in generators besides Ariadne that are not pt-ordered) and (2) the simpler method proposed
by M. Mangano.  Studies of the dependence on various choices would be considered, including
variation of the clustering scheme, use of color information, etc.

Help Needed:

None at the moment.   It may make sense to combine this with the Ariadne project and share data sets, etc.

Milestones:

Preliminary results to be presented at the working group meeting at DESY in the beginning of June.
Working implementation to be presented at the October meeting at CERN

Status:

(2004.04.02) The matching has been implemented for W-production, but there are still some problems which have not been solved.
For DIS the implementation has begun, but is not quite ready.
