Description

The course consists of: A review of the evolution of massive stars. Core-collapse supernovae. Type Ia supernovae and their use as standard candles in cosmology. Mass transfer in binaries. X-ray binaries. Radio pulsars and millisecond pulsars. The formation of compact binaries. Hypernovae and gamma-ray bursts. Galactic nuclei. Gravitational radiation.
